How To Detoxify Your Blood Naturally

how to detoxify blood naturally

Your blood is responsible for transporting all kinds of materials to your cells, from oxygen to hormones, sugar, etc.

There’s no need to invest in an expensive cleanse diet or buy tons of detox supplements to help keep your blood clean and toxin-free. There is no single miracle food that will help detox your blood.  An overall healthy diet that includes plenty of fruits and vegetables can be a great start.

The following foods in particular positively affect the entire body by cleaning and filtering waste and toxins from the blood—

  1. Water:

The best way to detoxify your body is to drink enough water. Your kidneys rely on water to help remove waste from the body. Water helps keep your blood vessels open so blood can flow freely. Severe dehydration can damage the kidneys.

Your urine should be light yellow or colourless throughout the day. According to the National Kidney Association, you should produce about 6 cups of urine per day. A general rule of thumb is to drink eight to ten glasses of water per day.

  • Lemon:

Lemon juice can help cleanse your blood and digestive system. Lemon juice is acidic in nature and can change your pH level and is effective in removing toxins from the blood. Drink fresh lemon juice every morning on an empty stomach to flush out unwanted elements from your body. Squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon in a glass of warm water and drink it before breakfast.

  • Fruits:

Blueberries are incredibly high in antioxidants. Blueberries can help keep the liver healthy. You can mix fresh or frozen blueberries into yogurt, oatmeal, or smoothies.

Apples are high in soluble fibre known as pectin. Soluble fibre helps control your blood sugar levels.  Since high blood sugar can damage your kidneys, it has an indirect positive effect on kidney health.

  • Herbs:

Garlic adds a wonderful flavour to any food in raw or powdered form. It has anti-inflammatory properties and can help lower your cholesterol and blood pressure. High blood pressure can damage the blood vessels in the kidneys.

Turmeric is a great healing spice that purifies our blood and accelerates the healing process. A compound called curcumin found in turmeric can fight inflammation and many other problems in the body. Turmeric also helps build red blood cells and its medicinal benefits can be traced back to Ayurvedic times. Drinking ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder mixed with a cup of warm milk will help the liver function best.

  • Different drinks:

Drinking coffee has a protective effect on the liver. Drinking coffee reduces the risk of cirrhosis in people with chronic liver disease and may also reduce the risk of developing liver cancer.

Doctors have used activated charcoal for years to reduce intestinal absorption and the effects of certain toxins. Now, juice and beverage manufacturers are adding large amounts of charcoal to drinks to detoxify your body. They claim that charcoal can bind to toxins in your intestinal system to reduce the level of harmful substances entering your blood. There isn’t much research to support the benefits of charcoal added to drinks. It is not scientifically proven that charcoal is particularly helpful in detoxifying your blood or keeping you healthy.

Healthy habits can help your body get the detoxification it needs. You usually don’t need to take extra measures to cleanse your blood, such as detox tea or a special diet. Avoiding toxins like pesticides, other chemicals and cigarette smoke can help keep you healthy.
